Old, used 4/4 Bapt. Schweitzer copy violin.

Johann was a violin maker born in Vienna in 1790. This violin was most likely made in a factory in Markneukirchen, Saxony.  The violin is well made with  brown-red varnish over a golden ground, antiqued in the usual way seen in Saxon made instruments.  The one piece maple back, sides and spruce top have a very fine flame. Instrument is in very good condition, robust tone, quick response with great playability.
